Ooooh, massage eh?
I, understand there are many types of 'massage' offered around the world.I would like to make clear from the outset that I offer only health based bodywork.I am professionally trained and my focus is on protecting , maintaining and restoring your health and helping you relax.
What are the benefits of bodywork?
Bodywork can help release chronic muscular tension and pain, improve circulation, increase joint flexibility, reduce mental and physical fatigue and stress, promote faster healing of injured muscular tissue, improve posture, and reduce blood pressure.Bodywork is also known to promote better sleep, improve concentration, reduce anxiety and create an overall sense of well-being.
Where will my bodywork session take place?
Your bodywork session will take place in your home or personal residence. Please clear a 8' x 8' (feet) space for the bodywork in a comfortable and quiet room. Soft music may be played to help you relax, or whatever music you find enjoyable. You will lie, on floor or your bed. Table especially designed for your comfort (we can help if you want to buy one). Two big towels and oil of your choice will be provided by you.
Are there any side effects, I need to be aware of?
The body releases toxins through massage. You might feel a little dizzy or suffer a headache after a massage. These are natural reactions which you should not worry about. Drink lots of water to decrease these symptoms. Feeling soreness in your muscles the next day is also perfectly natural - feel good about it, like you do after a good session at the gym!
Do I need to provide anything for bodywork?
I will bring a pair of excellent hands and a happy personality. All I ask you to provide is oil of your choice and your own toweling for the massage and to cover and protect any furniture or furnishings from oil. If you think about it, it is the most hygienic option ... do you really want to use towels taken from a carry bag which has been stuffed with other used towels all day? I didn't think so!.
What am I supposed to wear when I get bodywork?
For oil based bodywork you should undress to your own level of comfort and cover yourself with a large towel. I am trained to professionally move around the towel as I perform your treatment, with your modesty in mind whilst ensuring you receive a good quality proper health based bodywork.
Can I drink or eat before bodywork?
it is best to avoid drinking alcohol immediately before your massage and try not to have a massage on a full stomach, wait at least one hour, preferably two.
How do I pay?
Please pay me directly. I will accept cash , cheque and online payments and definitely not massage swaps, shopping coupons and promises of a thousand recommendations to others ... oh; the list goes on and on, so I’ll stop here.
How long can I book my treatment for?
Our standard session lengths are: 1 hour, 1.5 hours and 2 hours. our most popular booking is 1.5 hours but sometimes you may need to book for longer than 2 hours (eg to book 2 x 90 minute sessions back to back). No problem. Sorry, but we cannot do treatments lasting less than 1 hour.
How often should I receive bodywork?
Ideally once every week or two weeks. If you can't do this try at least to have bodywork on a regular basis. I have many customers who get bodywork twice a week ... and even a few who have had two treatments in one day!
The pressure isn’t right for me, what should I do?
Please don't worry about upsetting your therapist - just let me know immediately and I will be more than happy to hear how best to adjust the pressure to suit your personal preferences. We are all different and prefer different pressures and styles at different times. One person's deep is another's soft!
